Thinking about moving to Manhattan because of job relocation, attending a new college or simply looking for a change of scene? We have plenty of apartments available throughout the borough! The variety of apartments that we have to offer includes studios, one bed rooms and two bedrooms. Some of these beautiful apartments are in buildings that are equipped with elevator and some are also pet friendly. We understand how frustrating it can turn out to be searching for an apartment in the New York City area, so we at City & Suburban have come up with 5 easy ways to help you on your journey to your new home!
1.) Prepare yourself! - Make sure you research what documentation you are due to provide for an instant approval and how much time is given to submit it. Make phone calls. Usually management companies have their requirements stated on their website. Nothing says “Fabulous!” better than someone who is on their A-game!
2.) Run your credit! - There are free credit report websites where you can obtain a credit report free of cost. If there is any discrepancy in file, make sure you know in advance. Credit makes or breaks the deal.
3.) Request your letters! - If you know you need to move within a 2-3 week period, put in those requests! Employment letters, Landlord References, and if you’re a Student- School Enrollment letters! are required for an approval. Keep in mind, these documents may possibly take more than your deadline allows. Therefore - always think ahead!
4.) Do your research! -Research the management companies that you are interested in. Visit the area, and most importantly - visit the apartments! Even though it is a requirement for us to make sure you see it personally anyway, it is also still our most valuable advice to you.
5.) Have fun! - Make the apartment hunt an exciting and adventurous experience whether you are relocating or starting a new chapter in your life.
And so you ask yourself, “how does this work?” Well the answer is simple: we have a permanent open house in all of our vacancies! Keys are given to view them, or, depending where the apartment is located, we would escort you to the apartment and answer any and all your questions at the viewing!
Always keep in mind that we are here to help. We here at City and Suburban would like to wish you a happy apartment hunt!
